Chelsea Jackson has taken her passion for working with children from the Central Florida courtrooms to our R2S virtual classroom. She spent the last decade working as a Victim Advocate for children of abuse during her service at the Lake County State Attorney’s Office. Her educational background in Criminal Justice has provided a foundation in understanding the crucial relationship between early child development and delinquency. During her education, the primary focus of her studies surrounded early life intervention and child psychology related to criminality. Her previous experiences extend to working with children in Teen Court, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and other non-profit organizations aiding children in the Central Florida area. She is currently in the final year of her Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at Florida State University. While working on her degree, she has made it her life’s work to continue working with families to accelerate their child’s academic success. Her locality and relationships within the Central Florida area make her a viable asset in connecting families with local resources for learning opportunities.
Chelsea is also a parent of a current R2S student. Her dedication to her son’s academic success drew her in for the position of coaching. She made the bold decision to share her experiences with other R2S families and take initiative by joining our R2S team. She has brought her broad experiences of working with families of diverse backgrounds and learning styles to our program. She is overjoyed to share her family’s journey with reading literacy and cannot wait to help your student SOAR.
